The Yongchuan New District Gymnasium in Chongqing is a multi-purpose venue, which is designed for the National Class B gymnasium. While serving students of the College of Arts and Sciences, it also takes it into consideration that Yongchuan District will undertakes provincial (municipal)-level special sports competitions and national single indoor competitions. It is also used for holding public gatherings and performing arts activities. The sound decoration design project of the gymnasium was undertaken by Tiange Acoustics, a specialist in stylistics, performing arts, and acoustic decoration of the hall.

Tiange Acoustics firstly conducted a detailed sound field analysis for the Yongchuan New District Gymnasium with the basis of the architectural acoustics profession and combined with interior decoration design to learn more about the indoor sound field situation in the competition hall. After analyzing the data, it provides appropriate suggestions and effective adjustments to the indoor decoration design of the gymnasium.

After systematic data analysis, Tiange Acoustics finally selected its special sound absorption module products for the gymnasium, according to the requirements of the architectural acoustics index of the gymnasium.

Project construction process

Finally, after the acoustic renovation of the venue, the average reverberation time of the intermediate frequency 500~1000Hz is 1.55s, which is in line with the ideal data. And the reverberation time is moderate, which meets the standard of the gymnasium. It is worth mentioning that after the completion of the new district gymnasium in Yongchuan District, it will become the main venue for the 6th Chongqing Municipal Games in 2020, which is of great significance for Yongchuan District.
